[:en]METRAF Foundation was legally established in the Republic of Senegal as a foundation of public utility in accordance with law Number 95-11 and an application decree Number 95.415 in 2001. Its purpose is to serve as a philanthropic entity which provides funds to support traditional medicine and indigenous science organizations throughout the world in their efforts to increase access to quality health care, preserve traditional medicine and indigenous cultures, and conduct scientific research. METRAF Foundation was capitalized with an initial investment of $90,000 in 2002 to meet its fiscal and legal mandate of a national foundation within Senegal. At the current time the funding priority of METRAF Foundation will be the support of the work of PROMETRA International and its global network of national chapters. As the corpus of METRAF Foundation expands, other traditional medicine organizations will be added to the grantee list for METRAF Foundation support.

[:fr]Fondation METRAF a été légalement établi dans la République du Sénégal en tant que fondation d’utilité publique, conformément à la loi numéro 95-11 et un numéro application décret 95,415 en 2001. Son but est de servir comme une entité philanthropique qui fournit des fonds pour soutenir la médecine traditionnelle et organisations scientifiques indigènes à travers le monde dans leurs efforts pour accroître l’accès aux soins de santé de qualité, préserver la médecine et autochtones cultures traditionnelles, et de mener des recherches scientifiques. Fondation METRAF a été capitalisée avec un investissement initial de 90 000 $ en 2002 pour répondre à son mandat fiscal et juridique d’une fondation nationale au Sénégal. À l’heure actuelle la priorité de financement de la Fondation METRAF sera le support de l’œuvre de PROMETRA son réseau mondial de chapitres internationaux et nationaux. Comme le corpus de la Fondation METRAF développe, d’autres organisations de la médecine traditionnelle seront ajoutés à la liste de bénéficiaire pour le soutien de la Fondation METRAF.
